We Are Moving

Over the past 8 months, Thread Church has been growing, and recently it has been challenging to fit everyone around the table at our Sunday gatherings. We originally had hoped to stay at our current location, and expand into the unit next to us. Unfortunately, we recently learned that expanding would not be an option because of the unit’s layout and location of the kitchen.

As we began to seek another solution, we discovered a larger loft space at the Sunset Electric building on Pine, in between 11th and 12th. This space is almost three times the size of our current loft, and would allow us to have a space dedicated for children and families. It is across the street from Cal Anderson Park, and next to the Seattle Police Department. It is also in an area of Capitol Hill with a walking score of 98. We submitted a plan to our board of directors and spiritual board, asking all to pray and see if moving was the right thing to do at this time. The rent is more than our current lease, but significantly less expensive than the original plan of expanding our current space. The board prayed, and unanimously agreed that the new space would be good to pursue, so we applied to lease the space, and our application was approved last week.

We will be having a moving party/day on Sunday, December 30th, and our first Sunday gathering in the new space will be Sunday, January 6th at 10:30am. We will continue to host Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous in our new space as well.

We are so grateful to Broadcast Apartments, and their amazing team - Keith and Madison. We are sad to leave such an amazing building and community, but thankful they will still be our neighbors as we will only be moving a couple blocks away.

If you have any questions about the move, or would like to help with the move, please email Justin@threadchurch.com.
